American rapper Meek Mill issues an apology to the people of Ghana for shooting his music video at the Jubilee House.
Snippet of his yet to be released video popped out on social media which has generated conversations over the usage of the Jubilee house.
Social media went ablaze with many people criticising the people responsible for allowing the rapper to use the Jubilee house for the video as most people are of the view that the place is not for such purposes and should be respected.
The Grammy nominee has taken to his social media platform to issue an apology as he says there was no ulterior motive behind using the place for his music video shoot and that he wanted to connect the black people in America and Africa through music. He wrote:
“My apologies to the people if any disrespect! We still gonna push to make the connection between black people in America and Africa … what I’m trying to do is more than a video and you should see coming soon! My apologies to the the office also!”.
The rapper further stated that he will take full responsibility of his actions when he was told by a fan that he is not the one Ghanaians are mad at but rather the authorities.
“I don’t think they knew it was video footage when we asked to shoot its a small camera and one kid … in America we didn’t know this existed and was excited to show because they don’t show Ghana on our media much! So I’ll take responsibility for my mistake! Not intentional”, he stated.
Meek Mill also talked about the fact that he is not here for anything black separation as we have already been separated enough.
“I’m just not here for no separation of anything black … we already separated enough and don’t understand each others cultures … let’s used this to help fix that and not more judgement towards each other!”.
