Ghanaian trapper and singer Black Sherif has been shortlisted among other artistes for this year’s BBC 1 extra as part of the talents to look out for this year via their Hotfor2023 Campaign.
The young talented artiste has seen succes in a short time since and is tipped to have a great musical career if he doesn’t slow down.The 2022 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) new artiste of the year has not looked back since his emergence in the music industry.
Some of the artistes who made the list include, the sensational British female group, Flo, Doechi, Cristale, Nemzz, Ayra Starr, Debbie among others.
Black Sherif who released his debut album dubbed “The Villain I Never Was” is the only Ghanaian artiste on the list after a successful year under review.
Faron McKenzie, Head of BBC Radio 1Xtra said; “The BBC 1Xtra ‘Hot For’ list has a proven track record of predicting who is about to do huge things for Black music in the year ahead”.“This year’s list is one of the most diverse I’ve seen and it’s full of artists that 1Xtra have supported since the very beginnings of their musical journeys”, he explained.
Black Sherif is projected to win both 3Music Awards and Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) 2023 artiste of the year.
