Rapper and CEO of Sarkcess Music, Michael Owusu Addo known widely as Sarkodie revealed the necessity for someone to document your journey (career) as an artiste.
Documentation of artistes journey (career) has been an issue especially in Ghana.
There have been great musicians who have served the country with great music and have had an illustrious career and legacy but you cannot find anything with regards to their lifestyle apart from probably only their songs.
The multiple award winning rapper says it’s very necessary for musicians to have someone document their journey in music (career) for the future generations to learn something from them and to share it with their fans at some point in their career. He said;
“I was probably the first guy who started having a 24 hour camera guy capturing and shaping my narrative. As an artiste, you have to have someone documenting your career and life so you can share with your fans at some point in your career”.
He further stated that doing music for all these years, he has had different highs.
“Doing music for 11 years, I realized I have different highs. I never smoked so I don’t know what high is but in my career there are things that made me high. My friends hearing my music, that was a high, hearing my song on the radio that was a high”, he said.
