Reggae dancehall artiste, Samini has expressed his displeasure once again for not winning the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards artiste of the decade.
The Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) artiste of the decade is given to the most dominant artiste over the last 10 years in the Ghana Music industry because that category is given every 10 years.
In 2019, multiple award winning rapper, Sarkodie won the VGMA artiste of the decade after being nominated alongside Samini, Stonebwoy Shatta Wale, Joe Mettle, Efya and others, being the second artiste to win it in history after Kojo Antwi.
Samini since, has stated that he deserved that award than Sarkodie because he has been in the music industry before him.
Speaking to Abeiku Santana on the show ‘Atuu’, the “my own” hitmaker stated categorically that he should have won that award. He said;
"They should have called me to give me that award case closed. You can't put me in the same category with Sarkodie and other artistes, no way".The king of live band as most people call him believed that, for that particular category there shouldn’t have been any nominations because he rightfully deserved it than Sarkodie. He said.
