Entertainment journalist, pundit and writer Arnold Asamoah Baidoo goes hard on Black Rasta’s mentality on Bob Marley’s posthumous projects.
After the death of the legendary reggae musician of all time, the family and record label have tried to keep the legacy for generations to come to know how great he is and his contribution to music as most believe he is the greatest musician ever.
The Marley family and Island record have done some collaborations of remaking some songs of the legendary artiste.
Collaborations or features with artistes like Lauryn Hill, Biggie, Busta Rhymes, etc have helped keep the legacy of Bob Marley.
Multiple award winning rapper Sarkodie has recently been featured on ‘Stir It Up’ by Bob Marley which has created a lot of conversations and talks on both social media and traditional media.
According to radio presenter and reggae musician Black Rasta, the Sarkodie collaboration was not necessary because the Marley family is desecrating the music made by Bob Marley.
Arnold Asamoah Baidoo found this statement made by Black Rasta as uncalled for and unnecessary rant as he doesn’t know anything about what the Marley family has done protecting the legacy of Bob Marley from the time he died till now. He said;
“There has been a conscious effort to protect his legacy and make him relevant from the time he died till now both by the family and the record label. They know exactly what they are doing and they have done it perfectly well as Bob Marley is listed among the richest dead musicians in the World by Forbes. You have no idea what is going on so what audacity do you have to criticise the Marley family? You just sit in Accra at 3FM and say things you have no idea about”.
