Former Trade and Industry Minister in the erstwhile Mahama government, Dr Ekow Spio-Garbrah, has opined that, though it is the position of the oppositon National Democratic Congress’ position not to recognise H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as president of the Republic and acknowledge as such, governments the world over do recognise him as the leader of the West African State.
In an exclusive interview with Silver News On Silver FM 98.3mhz yesterday evening, the longtime presidential hopeful stressed further that, it is mere talk for the NDC to say it does not recognise Akufo-Addo as president because when he was sworn in on January 7, this year, he did so in the presence of Rt Hon. Alban S.K. Bagbin, the speaker of parliament, together with NDC MPs, NPP MPs, Chief Justice and some foreign leaders.
He also reiterated that any issues the NDC had with theoutcome of the December 7, 2020 Presidential Election has been laid before the Supreme Court for redress.
“Until the Supreme Court gives a verdict for our petition, constitutionally, Ghana has a president!” He said.
