The ability to spot promising talents has been one of Ghanaian Rapper, sarkodie’s hallmark in the music industry. Identifying what Nigerian singer, Oxlade has got was definitely one that wasn’t out of the rapper’s capabilities.
In an interview on “DaybreakHitz” with Andy Dosty, the singer narrated how sarkodie discovered the jewel in him and subsequently decided to work with him at a time nobody knew of him in Ghana.
According to Oxlade, Sarkodie fished his amazing talent out way before Ghana got to know of him. He spoke highly of the rapper while he admitted the enormous influence Sarkodie has had on him and his career.
“Honestly, it was special because sark spotted the talent even before the whole Ghana saw it. That was the most amazing thing about it”. He told the host
He went on to reveal how sarkodie found out about him as he referenced a big industry player in Nigeria, bankuli being the one who pitched his sound to sarkodie. The rapper fell in love with his music and insisted they had a joint together.
“There’s a big bro of mine named Bankuli. He was just playing artist from Nigeria to sark. He played me, Spyro, basically all the artists popping right now and sark just developed interest in me and reached out. I’m so grateful for the co-sign from bankuli”. He said
He further stated, “He just said he was working on a song with wande coal but for some clearance reasons which may hinder the release, he would put me on the song. So he just sent me the beat that I should jump on it and I gave it my all”.
