Former Sarkcess Music signee, Strongman speaks about some challenges he faced during his time as a record label signee.
Rapper Strongman who was signed to Sarkcess Music in 2017 for two years, left the label in 2019 with songs like Transformer and Baby girl and an EP dubbed Still That Nigger (STN).
A lot of issues came out from him leaving the Sarkcess camp as people felt he wasn’t well projected as they thought and others too saying otherwise.
Strongman is said to be releasing an EP this year titled “The Tape” with two songs already out that’s ‘Statue’ and Nhyira ft former label mate Akwaboah.
In an interview with a Kumasi based radio station, Radio ONE to promote his new song ‘Nhyira’, the rapper talked about the reason why he couldn’t shoot a video for any of the songs on his “STN” EP especially the masses favorite ‘Vision’, he said;
“During my time under Sarkcess, I couldn’t shoot any video for my ‘STN EP’ because it wasn’t my job to do that, I was taking orders from above and I never asked Sarkodie to shoot a video for me because when he listened to my songs, he choose which one should have a video and their budget in shooting videos are high so by the time he will shoot a video for Akwaboah and himself, then the money is gone because everything was from his pocket and I have to be considerate about the issue. I think Sarkodie should have gotten himself an investor before signing us”.
The ‘Baby girl’ hitmaker also said he will not sign for any record label that the owner is an active musician again and even if he will sign for a record label, he has to know what’s really on board for him.
