Ghanaian music dons Shatta Wale and Sarkodie emerged big winners during the International Reggae and World Music Awards (IRAWMA).
The 2021 edition of the IRAWMA was held on Sunday, May 16th.
Award winning rapper Sarkodie won the “best virtual showcase/concert of the year” with his virtual concert ‘Black Love’s virtual concert ahead of Beenie Man vs Bounty verzus Battle, Rebel Salute and the popular Reggae Sunfest.
This award has cemented the notion that Sarkodie’s “Black Love virtual concert” is the biggest virtual concert in Africa.
Reggae dancehall artiste Shatta Wale also won the “best entertainer of the year”.
Young disc jockey, DJ Switch won the “best young entertainer of the year”.
Instrumentalist Kwame Yeboah on the night won the best “instrumentalist of the year”.
The IRAWMA is regarded as the best and biggest reggae awards in the World.
The awards won by Sarkodie, Shatta Wale, DJ Switch and Kwame Yeboah on the night of the 39th IRAWMA is a big win for Ghana Music and the musicians involved.
