Fast rising act and BBnaija season V winner, Olamilekan Moshood Agbeleshe, known professionally by the stage name as Laycon has stated that Sarkodie influenced his music career.
A lot of musicians in Ghana especially rappers in one way or the other expressed how Sarkodie influenced their style of rap and music as they see him to be the figure head of African rap music and how his brand has been solidified and Nigerian Laycon is no exception to the people Sarkodie has influenced in terms of music.
According to Laycon on Showbiz 360 with Giovani Caleb, Sarkodie’s Freestyle on all of the light instruments in 2013 really influenced his music career though he didn’t understand the words by Sarkodie. He said;
“I put out a mixtape in 2013 called ‘conspiracy’ just because of Sarkodie. I didn’t understand the language that he was using but the rhyme schemes and the delivery made with the light instruments that influenced me, reason why I used the same instruments for my mixtape. I rapped like him so he has a big influence on me when it comes to music”.
The fast rising star also stated that Nigerians know Sarkodie not because of social media but because his songs is being played on the streets of Nigeria.
The BBnaija season V winner when asked where he will rate Sarkodie among the best rappers in the World, also revealed that Sarkodie will definitely be among the top best rappers not only in Africa but in the World.
