Actor and Philanthropist, Kojo Nkansah, popularly known as Lilwin has disclosed what informed his decision to contest for the parliamentary seat in his constituency come next year.
In a recent interview on Silver TV and Silver FM, the actor stated how a few venerated elders and some affluent men from Accra and Kumasi reached out to him to represent his constituency, Afigya kwabre south, in parliament as an independent candidate.
The kumawood star opened up on the conversation which led to his decision to contest as a Member of Parliament in his constituency; “We want you to represent kwabre south in parliament come 2024 elections as an independent candidate. We’ve spoken to your Mum and uncles and we insist that you take the offer. We will sponsor your campaign and everything you would need to appeal to your people”. The Elders assured the actor of their support while they urge him to carry out their offer.
According to Lilwin, he was of the view that his lack of eloquence in English would be a hindrance to this course but the elders gave him a their word of a possible translation when the need arises.
He further averred the details on the discussion with the Elders; “We observed your wise talks and philanthropic works you’ve being able to do with your earnings from your movie roles. Despite not necessarily having much, you’ve being able to impact the lives of your constituents through the establishment of a school”. The comic actor sounded fulfilled as he revealed the reaction he got from the Elders as a result of his charitable projects.
