Youth PWR Int’l Distributes Relief Items to Young People in Accra, Ghana Through Its Covid-19 Support Project in Africa

YOUTH PWR INT’L, a non-governmental organization, has commenced distribution of palliative materials to vulnerable young people in some communities in Ghana.

The support initiative tagged #nextdoor, according to the NGO, is aimed at giving succor to vulnerable young persons in the face of hardship caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

The initiative kick-started on Sunday in Accra, with the distribution of food items, PPE such as hand sanitizers, face masks and other preventive items to vulnerable young people. While speaking at the commencement of the event, the team lead of the organization in the Republic of Ghana, said the support project was targeted at vulnerable young persons in different communities to provide succour at a time of hardship. “We have studied the situation and found out that with the issue of coronavirus, young people are in need and experiencing hardship. This is why we decided to support the vulnerable persons directly with this relief package,” He said.

The organization also seized the opportunity to raise awareness/sensitization campaign on the dangers of COVID-19 pandemic.

Some of the beneficiaries interviewed couldn’t hide their joy. They expressed delight at the humanitarian gesture by the organization for the thoughtful intervention.

YOUTH PWR (Africa) is the African arm of YOUTH PWR INT’L. The organisation works with communities to engage, inspire and educate young people with a central commitment to empower the youth for constructive engagement and empowerment for a sustainable future.
