Kojo Weaporn releases Dispose the Borla Songs urging Ghanaians to pay attention to real.
Rapper Kojo Weaporn has managed to be in the trends again for releasing another controversial song titled "Drop the Borla Songs". The song which comes on the heels of a video he made whiles being on a latrine, talks more about his frustration of Ghanaians highlighting nonsensical songs/freestyles and ignoring real talents.
The song comes with a video which is available on YouTube. The video depicts a mature boxer against an amateur and the irony in the visuals is the opponent of the mature boxer looking like AY Poyoo who happens to be one of Kojo Weaporn's victims in the track.
The song starts with background voices of Alkaline Richest and Asare Richway, a social media user who has found a way into rapper Sarkodie's heart. In a line of the song he said "where I'm from, so so crap soor they be selling, no be sey we no get talent oo, yɛ wɔ ne dozen". A line which seems to reiterate opinions of some Ghanaian music lovers who agreed with his rants in the video he made few days ago. Casting our mind back to a month ago, we did a story about the Taadi based rapper wishing some top celebrities in the entertainment industry be replaced by dead celebrities he felt had better talent to show Ghanaians but were short lived.
The Devil's Work crooner said in his new song that he received a lot of backlash from a section of Ghanaians who felt his "Devil's Work Cover" freestyle was in a bad taste. He made this assertion on his 2 minutes 40 seconds ranting video which received mixed feelings from the public, that he was just being creative and didn't really mean things he said in the freestyle. He cited that his freestyle had given him buzz on both social and traditional media whiles his great content driven songs don't receive same reviews.
"I drop some freestyle bi wey one time I bed wey my friend bi sey, bro you dey trend number one on Twitter. Fine I go check edey bee me. But the reason I dey trend be sey, the content of the freestyle no se make people die. I say make God bring Suzzy Williams and come take Afia Schwarznegger den Akuapem Poloo. Make he bring Terry Bonechaka den come take somebody wey ein mouth like vuvuzela and all. Wey some artist fan base bi dey insult me."
I was of the view that after this video, the rapper would learn and desist from controversial content, but no he releases another one throwing shades at artists/comedians he feels don't have the talent to get the spotlight. He mentions the likes of AY Poyoo, Ablekuma Nanalace, Honorable Apɔnkye and some others. Well it seems our upcoming rapper won't stop because he has managed to trend at number one with his new song Dispose the Borla Songs.
Personally, I agree with him and having this huge talent yet has to pass through controversies to be heard makes the case hopeless. Kojo Weaporn is a big talent that we are not paying attention to. Dispose the Borla Songs is another dope rap song he has released and I recommend every rap enthusiast to have a look.
