KARELA GO TOP AS ASHGOLD ,KOTOKO SETTLE FOR DRAW

Accra Hearts of Oak sealed a comfortable 2-0 win over Techiman Eleven Wonders as the Phobians closed the gap on the league leaders to just two points. Victor Aidoo who secured a point for the men in rainbow at the Nduom Sports stadium a week ago, opened the score with youngster Umar Manaf adding to ensure victory for Kosta Papic’s side.

The heavyweight battle of the weekend saw Medeama SC tame free-scoring AshantiGold at the Obuasi Len Clay stadium. AshGold for the first time this season failed to score as the yellow and mauve and the miners settled for a goalless draw.

In Sogakope, Asante Kotoko’s newly found gem, Kwame Opoku , levelled Daniel Lomotey’s early lead for WAFA Academy at the dreaded Red Bull Arena. The Porcupines however can move to second place if they beat Ebusua Dwarfs in their outstanding fixture in Cape Coast on Wednesday.

Aduana Stars proved their mettle despite their financial woes to beat Legon Cities who recorded their first win of the season last weekend against WAFA. Francis Addo scored the Royals first goal from open play in the ongoing campaign but two goals from Yahaya Mohammed and Fatawu Abdulrahman were enough to maintain their steady rise on the league log.

At Ayianase , Karela United thumped Berekum Chelsea by 4-1 as their ruthless home form continued while climbing to the top of the pile . Diewiase Taylor and former Asante Kotoko striker, Kwame Boateng, scored a brace each. The blues could only manage a consolation from John Andoh.

Bechem United failed again at the Nana Fosu Gyeabo Park In Bechem as they were held by Dreams FC . Salifu Imoro was on hand to put the Hunters in the lead on the 11th minute but a late equaliser by Ibrahim Issah meant the hunters are winless in the last three games.

James Bissue seems to have found his scoring boots for the resilient Sharks from Elmina as he put his side in the lead at the Nana Ameyaw Park in Techiman . But King Faisal who are struggling to win the battle against relegation fought back through Razak Toufiq for a 1-1 draw. Faisal have only managed one win in 24 league games.

Nii Abbey Quaye expertly converted the spot kicks for Accra Great Olympics as they added to Inter Allies’ misery. The ‘11 is to 1’ boys languish at the bottom half of the table despite changing their Head Coach with just seven points from the nine games played.

The unpredictable Kings from the Coast, Ebusua Dwarfs, silenced the vociferous crowd at the Dansoman Karl Reindolf Park as they came from a goal down to win 2-1.
Wayo Abraham put the Scientific soccer lads in the lead but that was short-lived as Michael Ohene Asamoah and Moro Somalia sealed victory for the idekay , idepandy club despite having Simon Nartey sent off.
