Africa’s most awarded rapper, Sarkodie, has rendered an apology to his fans in Detroit for missing out on the show.
The Ghanaian rap icon, in a recent tweet, attributed the reason for not being able to show up for the concert to a flight hitch.
Sarkodie gave a breakdown of the unfortunate situation that led to his absence in Detroit to thrill his fans. While at it, he cited poor communication, weak flights, long waiting hours without any update as part of the untenable scenes he had to put up with as he waited for closure.
“So I missed my event in Detroit due to @Delta doing an emergency landing on an island in Portugal yesterday. It was unfortunate but I know these things happen so I wasn’t trippin even though they communicated poorly and didn’t have the courtesy to update us on exactly what was happening… sat at the airport for about 6 hours and from complains from passengers, this isn’t new with that airline especially from this part of the world ( Africa ) they keep sending these weak old flights ( business class almost same as economy ) to pick us up knowing very well they are not safe but still risk lives”. The rapper narrated his ordeal
In his bid not to malign the business entity in question, the venerated rapper apologized to his fans in Detroit and assured the fans that he’ll make it up to them. However, he expressed hope in seeing the owners resolve the issue going forward.
“Moving forward I wouldn’t want to tarnish a business but hopefully they see to this problem and resolve it … and to my fans in Detroit I’m very sorry and we working on making it up to you”. He stated
The multiple award winning rapper also mentioned how the flight got to land on an island and missed the danger of landing in an ocean by Godly intervention. He added a worry of no compensation when their bags were still on the island.
“We almost landed on the ocean but thank God we touched that island safe . No compensation nothing and our bags still on the island”. He averred in discontent of the incident.
Sarkodie is currently on a world tour promoting his 7th studio album, Jamz after its release in November last year.
