Rapper and songwriter Medikal says he birthed drill songs in Ghana.
Drill songs have become popular in Ghana especially the last two years after the rise of the Asakaa boys, Yaw Tog and others.
Multiple award winning rapper and Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) hiplife/hip-hop artiste of the year says he birthed drill music in Ghana.
In the controversial tweet by the rapper, he stated that any artiste who has had hit or hits songs off drill owes him 20% of money made. He wrote;
“Any artiste making hits off drill owes me 20 percent of any song. I birth this”.
The ‘La Hustle’ hitmaker statement has created divided opinions with some suggesting the drill music was birthed by the Asakaa boys while others are also in support of his statement.
