Ghanaian singer and songwriter, Gyakie, is the latest artist to receive a golden plaque from Africa’s premier music streaming and download platform, Boomplay, after joining the platform’s club of artists with record milestones – Boomplay Golden Club.
The songbird joins the prestigious club for reaching and surpassing a milestone of 100 million streams to become the first female artist from Ghana to achieve this enviable feat. Fellow Ghanaian compatriots part of the Boomplay Golden Club include Black Sherif, Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale and Camidoh.

Receiving the plaque, Gyakie shared her gratitude, “I would like to say a big thank you to Boomplay and my fans. To my fans, we’ve got the 100M streams, and it’s all because of you. We did it without an album by the way, so look forward to the album coming and keep running the numbers up. I am grateful.”
Born Jackline Acheampong and affectionately called Song Bird, Gyakie burst onto the music scene in 2019 with her debut single, “Love is Pretty”, which got her some buzz and paved the way for a follow up single, “Never Like This”, a favourite of her core fans. Following the release of her smash single, “Forever” in 2020, Gyakie rose to continental acclaim and has been on a phenomenal run ever since.
Signed to Flip The Music and Sony Music, Gyakie has two EPs to her credit – “SEED EP” and “MY DIARY” – and many hit songs including “Something”, “Need Me”, “Scar” and “Rent Free”.
