The Road Transport Operators body announced on Monday (15 May) that fares would be reduced by 10% beginning on Wednesday, May 17, 2023.
“With the recent price reductions in petroleum products, it became necessary to engage stakeholders to consider a review of the fares in accordance with the administrative instrument.”
“Following these negotiations, and in consideration of the plight of drivers, commuters, and the general public, we have resolved to reduce existing transportation fares by 10%,” the organization stated in a statement.
The Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) and the Ghana Road Transport Co-ordinating Council (GRTCC) formed the organisation, which urged all drivers to “comply with the new fares and post same at their loading terminals.”
