Director Big OJ shares the story of Sarkodie and Burna Boy’s Special Someone video

Ghanaian director Big OJ has shared an interesting fact about Sarkodie’s Special Someone record that featured Grammy winner Burna Boy and AKA.

The song was released in 2014, but it has gained traction following the recent Ghana versus Nigeria debate sparked by Shatta Wale.

In a tweet, Big OJ revealed the video nearly wasn’t released because Ghanaian singer Castro got missing around that period. He also revealed Burna Boy wasn’t in South Africa at the time of the shoot and had to track him for 5 months to get his scenes shot, even with that Burna Boy gave him just an hour to shoot. All in all, he revealed it was a fun experience.

Here is the tweet;

Fact: This video almost never got released cuz Castro was missing month after we shot it, he was on set. 2: Burna wasn’t available on SA set. Had to track him in Naija 5months later to get his scenes shot. He gave me 1hr. It was fun.

Special Someone was a single from Sarkodie’s 2014 album Sarkology.
