Hilda Baci completes her cook-a-thon with a world record time of 100 hours

Record-smashing Hilda Baci, a Nigerian chef, completed her marathon cooking at 100 hours, setting a new Guinness World Record for the ‘longest cooking period’ by an individual. Recall Hilda had equaled and surpassed Indian chef Lata Tandon’s record for the longest cooking time on Monday morning. The Akwa-Ibom-born cook will then surpass her initial 96-hour aim by four hours, setting a new world record of 100 hours. Hilda began cooking for the cook-a-thon on Thursday at 4 p.m. Nigerian time by turning on her cooker. President Muhammadu Buhari, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwoolu, and Senate President contender Godswill Akpabio are among the luminaries who have thrown their weight behind her campaign. The chef’s exceptional feat will be reviewed by Guinness World Records management before her name is formally put into the famed book, which includes a slew of Nigerians with impressive exploits.

Fares will be decreased by 10% as on May 17, 2023.

The Road Transport Operators body announced on Monday (15 May) that fares would be reduced by 10% beginning on Wednesday, May 17, 2023. “With the recent price reductions in petroleum products, it became necessary to engage stakeholders to consider a review of the fares in accordance with the administrative instrument.” “Following these negotiations, and in consideration of the plight of drivers, commuters, and the general public, we have resolved to reduce existing transportation fares by 10%,” the organization stated in a statement. The Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) and the Ghana Road Transport Co-ordinating Council (GRTCC) formed the organisation, which urged all drivers to “comply with the new fares and post same at their loading terminals.” The whole statement is as follows:

Hilda Effiong Bassey, also known as Hilda Baci, a Nigerian chef, has broken the Guinness World Record for the “longest cooking marathon by an individual.” On Monday morning, the chef broke the 87-hour-45-minute record set by now-former Guinness World Record holder Lata Tondon. Hilda began the battle on Thursday at 4 p.m., when she turned on her cooker. Despite having broken the record, Hilda continues her quest to cook for 96 hours, setting a new world record as the first human on the planet to do so. Government officials, celebrities, priests, and other well-meaning Nigerians have continued to show their support for the restaurateur. Despite a torrential downpour in the early hours of Monday, Nigerians stood by her.
