Ghanaian music icon ,Black Sherif clinched the ‘Best West African artist’ award at the just ended ‘Headies Awards’ held in Atalanta, USA.
The reigning VGMA artist of the year won over his Ghanaian colleagues Camidoh,Gyakie and The Therapist from Liberia.
Blacko expressed his appreciation to his fans across the continent after receiving the award. He also sent his gratitude to his fans in Ghana, Nigeria and Konongo Zongo where he hails from.
“Thank you so much to the fans, to the listeners. Thank you Headies. Thank you Nigeria. Thank you Ghana. Thank you Konongo Zongo. Love you”. He said
The 16th Headies which took place at the Cobb Energy Performing Art Center in the USA, saw performances from Ayra Starr, Rema, Asake, Johnny Drille, Spyro, Oxlade, Seyi Vibes,Victony, Blaqbonez, FireBoyDML and KCee.
The event had award-winning actress, host, producer and humanitarian, Osas Ighodaro and TV presenter, American actor and model, Terrence J as its host.
