Title Chasers Arsenal have defeated relegation threatened side Luton town to climb top of the table with 68points. Followed by their close competitor Liverpool who sits 2nd on the table with 67points.
Martin Odegaard’s 24th minute strike gave Arsenal the opener. 20minutes later, Luton town defender Daiki Hashioka gifted the Gunners the double to secure their lead. The second half recorded a stalemate.
Following the draw against Manchester City over the weekend, Mikel Arteta’s side were looking to continue their 2024 unbeaten run with nothing short of a win against a struggling Luton town. As it’s the only way they get to keep their title competing hopes alive.
Arsenal will now wait for what the outcome their close competitor’s game against bottom side Sheffield United on Thursday evening would be to determine their time of stay at the position they lie currently.
Ghana’s Thomas Partey was involved in the starting lineup for the first time since October 2023 when he got injured.
