Manchester City triumph over Aston Villa at the Etihad to continue their stay within the title contention circle. Pep’s side currently sit 3rd on the table with 67points.
Both halves were dominated, won by City. After Rodri’s early goal on the 11th minute was canceled by Villa’s Striker Jhon Duran on the 20th, Foden’s stunning free kick saw City with the lead again just before halftime.
Foden managed to hit a brace in the second half to seal the deal for the home side.
Manchester City will be visiting the Palace on Saturday afternoon. A replication of today’s display against Palace is all Pep’s men would need to not only remain in the title race but also give the two leading teams a keen competition.
Aston Villa, who currently sit 4th on the table with 59points, would see their Champions league qualification dream to come to fruition if they are able go all 7games left them for the rest of the season without a defeat.
