Former Ghana skipper Asamoah Gyan, who did not play in the Africa Cup of Nations for the first time since 2008 has expressed disappointment in the performance of the Black Stars at the games in Cameroun.
The striker is working as a television pundit for South Africa-based sports broadcasting giants SuperSports for the ongoing 33rd Edition of the tournament in Cameroon.
The 36-year-old believes the Black Stars did not do enough in their three group games against Morocco, Gabon and Comoros
Milovan Rajevac’s side sat at the bottom of the log in Group C after losing to the Atlas Lions of Morocco in their opener before drawing with Gabon and losing 3-2 to the least fancied side Comoros on Tuesday night, bringing their campaign to an end in what could be the teams worse performance since 2004.
According to the former striker and the topmost scorer for Ghana, Ghana national team did not play anything and didn’t create any chances and that he is really disappointed and devastated as Ghana couldn’t go beyond the group stage.
In his words
“I’m really devastated and disappointed, Ghanaian are going to be disappointed as well because you can’t play like this, we actually didn’t do anything unlike Algeria who has been creating chances but could not win, we didn’t create any chances and we did not play like Ghana “
