English born Ghanaian and Uefa Champions League winner Callum Hudson Odoi has admitted to how well he was welcomed by Ghanaians in his stay in the country.
After a long 2020/21 season, the Chelsea winger who played a bit part role under manager Thomas Tuchel decided to enjoy summer holidays in Ghana. He expressed how excited he was and was made to feel at home.
“me, my mum and dad talked about it. I felt like going back and obviously the reception there (Ghana) was amazing especially winning the Champions League as well. It was beautiful. Going back home and seeing everyone is a nice feeling. I really enjoyed it”, he said.
He also expressed how surprised he was as a result of the receptive nature of Ghanaians . “ going back, I thought it was going to be relaxed and chilled but everywhere we went a lot of fans supported Chelsea which is an amazing feeling as well. It was nice. I enjoyed every bit of it. When I go to the airport those people were already there dancing which was good so it was good times good vibes and I’m back to my football ”, he concluded.
The winger during his stay in Ghana attracted diverse opinions towards him about his nationality switch. Callum Hudson-Odoi has played for the English youth teams and the three lions but he still eligible to play for Ghana.
