Multiple award winning reggae dancehall artiste Charles Nii Armah Mensah, known popularly as Shatta Wale, has cautioned political parties not to tamper with his brand when they are doing their campaigns.
Artistes are known to be used by political parties when doing rallies and campaigns either through their songs or performing on stage for the particular party.
Music is used in every aspect of our lives including politics. The political parties play music at rallies and campaigns and pay artistes to perform at their rallies.
Shatta Wale has a huge fan base and is very popular in the country especially among the youth.
The ‘Akwele Take’ hitmaker knowing how huge his fan base and powerful his brand is , which can help any political party that decides to patronize his brand during their campaign, has asked that his brand should not be used for political campaigns.
The reggae dancehall artiste took to his twitter page:
“Moving forward ..no one should use my picture or my brand on any political campaign or platforms .My loyal fans and i will support and coperate with any person who Ghanaians elect as their president”.Shatta Wale
Shatta Wale has once performed for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and also said this year that he would be happy if Ghanaians would give the sitting President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo another four years because of how he has controlled and contained the pandemic coronavirus.
The reason why he has cautioned political parties not to use his brand or picture for any political campaigns and rallies is still yet to be known.
